Persatuan Melayu Keriam (PESAKA) in Tutong had organised a semi-marathon to mark the 26th National Day celebration. The chief guest was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Awg Hj Mawardi bin Hj Abdullah.
The event with six categories, including a Fun Run, was participated by 120 village residents..
In category A men’s open – 21km, Awg Sefli bin Ahar was in 1hr 15min 39sec. Awg Abdul Malik and Awg Othman bin Mustapha took the 2nd and 3rd places respectively at 1hr 20min 12 sec and 1hr 21min 58sec.
In category B men’s veteran – 15km, the champion was Awg Terence Martin Gallagher in 56min 36 sec. Awg Enderow Pagun, second in 1hr 02sec. Awg Hj Mohd Ilmi bin Hj Abd Rahim, third in 1hr .03sec.
In category C men’s master veteran – 10km, Awg Batang bin Kilat took first in 49min 15sec. Second was Awg Zakaria bin Hj Bakar in 50min 20sec. Third was Adb Aziz bin Hj Abdullah in 51min 58sec.
In the category D women’s open – 15km, Dyg Jenny Tan Feng Ling recorded 1hr 18sec to win. Second was Dyg Sufinah bte Hj Adris in 1hr 22sec. Dyg Miriliyana bte Meludin came third in 1hr 25min 28sec.
In Category E women’s veteran – 10km, the champion was Dyg Tan Siew King, while Norsalam bte kalong and Dyg Riziwita bte Hj Md Taib came second and third respectively.
In category F ‘Fun Run’ – 3km, the event was participated by the chief guest along with Acting Tutong District Officer and other invited guests as well as the villagers.
The semi-marathon was organised to raise funds for the orphanage and special needs fund in the Tutong district and for the PESAKA golden jubilee celebration. Souvenirs were presented by the Chief of PESAKA, Awg Ahanapi bin Hj Mahadi. Zainal HJ
