Local golfing sensation, Seruji Hj Setia finished ahead of the field after he carded a 70 nett to be crowned overall champion of the open Golf Tournament to win the Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Awang Hj Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong challenge trophy.
Seruji Hj Setia, who missed the prize presentation ceremony to attend to another obligation, had won numerous trophies on the Pantai Mentiri Golf Course.
In the Open Category, Hj Raya Dollah came first with a 66 nett. Immy Indera placed second with a 67 nett Wira Salleh came third with a 69 nett.Khairol Kamis came fourth place with a 71 OCB . Ruby Yussof placed fifth with a 71 nett.
Zainol Amir Hj Abdullah hit 70 nett to snatch the winner’s prize in the Open B category, Hj Abd Razak Ibrahim came second with a 71 OCB. Lt Col Abd Ghani Abdullah was third with a 71 OCB, Junaidi Latif was fourth with 71 OCB. Mirussin Hj Hashim was fifth with a 71 OCB.
In the Open C Category Abd Mutalib took first with a 71OCB. Hj Nordin Hj Ahmad with 71nett, second. Pg Zaki Pg Hj Jambol in third place with a 72 OCB. Fourth was Hj Sani Bin Hj Bakir with a 72OCB. Hj Zaini bin Mohamad was fifth with a 73 nett.
In the Perangkab A category, the champion trophy went to Zainol Amir Hj Abdullah with a 70 nett. Kelali Hj Munchit with 74 nett, second , Hj amran Salleh with a 76 nett, third, Mohd Fahreen Yusra in fourth with a 84 nett. Abang Ahmad Fauzan in fifth with 86 nett.
The champion trophy for Perangkab B went to Lt Col Abd Ghani Abdullah with a 71 nett followed by Hj Nordin bin Ahmad in second place with a 72 nett, Forizan Hj Hilmi in third place with a 75 nett, Suhaili Hj Kaling in fourth place with an 85 nett and Azni Daud Hj Alidin took fifth spot with an 87 nett. For the Perangkab C category, Md Pisal Hj Abdullah took first spot when hefinished with 72 nett, Dato Hj Zaimi snatch second place with 73 nett, Hj El Hazmi Bin Hj Metali took third place with 75 nett while Suhaili Kaling took forth place with 82 nett. Fifth place went to Samahani Hj Yussof came in fifth place with 90OCB.
The Senior/ VIP category was won by Lt Col (rtd) Hj Abd Aziz. Hj Md Yussop with a 71 OCB, second.. Hj Hussein Metassan, third with a 1 OCB,. Fourth went to Hj Mohd Roger with a 71 nett. Pehin Dato Hj Md Tahir took fifth with a 72.
