More than 200 residents of Kg Perpindahan Bunut, Kg Tasek Meradun, Kg Bunut, Kg Madewa, Kg Telanai and Kg Sungai Ketam yesterday took part in a walkathon jointly organised by the Takmir and Muslimah committee of Kg Bunut Mosque, and the Village Consultative Council of Kg Tasek Meradun, Kg Madewa, Kg Telanai and Kg Sungai Ketam together with Ikatan Persatuan Belia Bunut (IKERAB)
The highlight of the event was a photography contest, kid’s colouring competition and ‘jawi’ writing competition.
The guest of honour was the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, Awg Hj Murni bin Hj Muhammad, who later presented prizes to the winners of the photography, colouring and ‘jawi’ writing contests.
Also in attendance were the Penghulu of Mukim Kilanas, Hj Abdullah bin Hj Halus, Village Leaders, Awg Hj Adanan bin Hj Mohd Salleh of Kg Perpindahan Bunut, Pg Hj Othman bin Pg Hj Sulaiman of Kg Tasek Meradun and Bunut and Hj Ibrahim bin Hj Mohd Salleh of Kg Meradun.
The event was part of the mosque’s activity to mark the 26th National Day celebrations.
