MADRID, March 16 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – Representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean are currently meeting with their European Union (EU) counterparts in Segovia, Spain, on the needs and priorities of future digital agendas between the two regions.
The delegations are meeting for two days in the framework of the 5th Ministerial Forum on Information Technology Society. This forum will give special attention to production and distribution of digital contents and make a balance of the public policies that need to be developed.
The reduction of digital difficulties in each region and the promotion of economic development are also being discussed.
The conclusions of the forum will be presented to the Heads of State and Government of Latin America, the Caribbean and the EU meeting here for their 6th Summit on May 18 and 19.
Another objective is proposing ways to increase knowledge and skills in the population on how to use and generate information technology, security and privacy.
This forum counts on the support of the European Commission and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
