His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to present 72 residents with land titles under the Temporary Occupation Licence Land Scheme, at Kampong Menengah Primary School in Lamunin yesterday.
Among those present to greet His Majesty on arrival were Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Minister of Development, and Dato Seri Paduka Awg Hj Eusoff Agaki bin Hj Ismail, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The ceremony began with opening remarks by Awg Hj Mohd Suffian bin Hj Bungsu, Acting Tutong District Officer. His Majesty then presented the land titles which entitle the recipients to ownership for 99 years. His Majesty toured the school before progressing to some of the land title recipients’ houses.
His Majesty also visited the heads of the villages of Bukit Sulang/ Menengah and Kampung Lubok Pulau, Awg Haji Roslee bin Haji Ahad and Awg Hj Abdul Rahman bin Samad respectively. His Majesty then visited a paddy field in Kampong Pengkalan Tangal, Lamunin.
His Majesty viewed an exhibition of the different varieties of paddy and the latest developments. His Majesty later visited the BIDB Tutong Branch at the OG Business Complex where he signed a parchment and viewed a mini-exhibition. His Majesty ended his visit at the Tutong Community Hall at the town centre.
