BUENOS AIRES, March 17, (NNN-MERCOPRESS) -Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will travel to Argentina on April 14 and 15 making it the first official visit by a Russian head of state in 125 years of bilateral relations, the Argentine Foreign Ministry said.
During his stay, Medvedev will meet with President Cristina Kirchner, who visited Russia in 2008.
?There is much interest in going further to strengthen coordination in political and economic issues at international level,? Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana said here after talks in Buenos Aires with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Riabkov.
Taiana noted that Argentina backs Russia?s bid in joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
?We also want to work in investment and trade, building partnerships in various areas,? he added, noting the two sides may sign agreements on nuclear energy, space, industry, science and technology. — NNN-MERCOPRESS
