CARTHAGE (TUNISIA), March 18 (NNN-TAP) — The Tunisian-Saudi relations and the Arab Interior Ministers Council meeting were under focus as President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali received, on Wednesday, Prince Nayef Bin Abdul-Aziz, Minister of the Interior and Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Prince Nayef, Honorary Chairman of the Arab Interior Ministers Council presented to Pres Ben Ali the shield of the “Nayef Arab University of Security Sciences,” for his support to Arab joint action in the security field.
Prince Nayef extended the regards and consideration of the Custodian of the Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz and Crown Prince, Sultan Bin Abdul-Aziz to the Tunisian president.
Prince Nayef praised the strong relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arab and Tunisia, emphasising the esteem and consideration vowed to President Ben Ali in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He expressed, in his own name and on behalf of the Arab Interior Ministers, his thanks and consideration to the Head of State for the interest he takes in the Arab Interior Ministers Council meeting and his action aimed to join best conditions for the success of this meeting and serve the causes of Arab security to the best.
Prince Nayef expressed appreciation for the interest shown by President Ben Ali for the development of the relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Tunisia and the situation on the Arab scene.
President Ben Ali on his part extended his regards and fraternal feelings to King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan as well as his best wishes for progress, prosperity and welfare to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Interior and Local Development, the Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council and the ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Tunis. — NNN-TAP
