NEW YORK, March 18, (NNN-IRNA): Keeping up process of US threats against independent countries, Washington has threatened Turkish government and nation to align with its anti-Iranian policies, or face segregation!
The US officials that had already threatened China, Brazil, Russia and a number of other free world countries on the same basis, urging them to follow the US policies blindly, particularly regarding Iran, have this time following the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Teyyip Erdogan?s open support for Iran?s right to have access to nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and the need to harness Israel?s military nuclear arsenal, started bullying their once regional ally, Istanbul.
The Americans have of course not raised the sticks having totally forgotten about the carrots in this game, encouraging the small countries with fragile economic to adopt anti-Iranian stands.
In line with that policy, recently the president of the 1.5 million strong population country of Gabon was summoned to Washington and offered a meager amount of financial assistance, in return for promise to join the US camp and to vote for the US demands at the UN Security Council.
Gabon, like Turkey, is one of the ten temporary members of the United Nations Security council currently.
Ratification of any UNSC resolution is in need of nine out of 15 positive votes, and that is in case none of the five veto right wielding countries would be opposed to it.
The US media have in their Wednesday editions quoted the US Deputy Secretary of State Philip Gordon as saying that Turkey must immediately harmonize its policies regarding Iran with Washington, since if according to him, Istanbul would distance itself form the international community, Turkey would face the consequences of its policies.
Obviously confiscating the phrase ?international community?, Washington equals itself and a few western countries with the entire international community.
This so-called international community is of course currently busy massacring the people in Iraq and in Afghanistan!
Gordon has further emphasized that as a temporary member of the UN Security Council, Turkey should prove its commitment in imposing sanctions against Iran, the banner of whose leadership is in Washington?s hands.
Adopting quite an undiplomatic mood, he has threatened that many countries are getting increasingly worried lest Turkey would fall prey to the aftermaths of its stands regarding Iran!
