Happy Motoring Sdn Bhd, main distributor of Honda vehicles in Brunei Darussalam said that the recall of 2007-2008 Honda Odyssey model in the United States does not affect Brunei’s market.
A spokesperson said “The Honda Odyssey sold in the United States are totally different from the model being sold here. The US model has a sliding door and the design is different. ”
The latest news of Honda recall came in light of the problem with soft brakes in the United States. The problem can result from air accumulating in a vehicle stability assist modulor, which causes the pedal to get closer to the floor than normal before the vehicle stops.
An estimated 412,000 vehicles of Odyssey and Element were recalled in the United States by the Japan’s second biggest carmaker. The spokesperson said “Honda’s element sport utility vehicles are not available in Brunei Darussalam so there is no concern.”
In January this year, Honda has to recall some 646,000 Ja77 vehicles worldwide because of the power window switch that could short circuit and cause fire if too much water got into the door handle.
