ISB students celebrated Brunei’s 26th National Day with a host of entertaining performances recently.
Kindergarten students waved the national flag as they enter the hall and the national anthem was sung in unison. A powerpoint presentation provided informative details about the history of Brunei and how it gained independence in 1984. Class 2S danced to a popular patriotic song, “Tekad Kemerdekaan”, sang by Year 4 students.
The highlight of the assembly was the Year 6 musical drama based on the local legend, ‘Nakhoda Manis’, emphasising the importance of loving and respecting our country. Primary student performers played the hadrah.
This special National Day assembly was in line with the school’s endeavours to promote Brunei’s language and culture to its diverse student population with over 40 nationalities.
