RAMALLAH, March 20 (NNN-KUNA) — Jewish extremists set a number of Palestinian vehicles on fire in Jerusalem on Saturday.
Palestinian witnesses told reporters that Israeli police forces arrived on the scene, but made no effort to stop the extremists, who targeted vehicles belonging to the authorities supervising Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Last week, Jewish extremists had threatened in pamphlets to retaliate against the Palestinians, if the latter continued to protest against the newly opened synagogue close to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli forces also closed down the entrance to Shuafat refugee camp and prevented Palestinians from using it, after searching several houses there.
The camp and other areas in Jerusalem and the West Bank have been subjected to searches, where Israeli troops wounded and arrested dozens of Palestinians after the protests that broke out, triggered by Israel’s provocative actions against Al-Aqsa Mosque. — NNN-KUNA![]()
