MEXICO, March 20 (NNN-Prensa Latina): The Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba issued a statement supporting the Caribbean nation and in repudiation of the international media campaign against the socialist revolution in that country.
The enemies of the island took the global hunger strike death of an inmate associated with the internal counterrevolution to launch a campaign of interference from alleged violations of human rights, considers the text.
Orlando Zapata, the recently deceased inmate, was jailed for a series of crimes committed between 1993 and 2003, not for political reasons, only during his last imprisonment was joined by counterrevolutionaries, who encouraged him to launch a hunger strike, requires the Movement .
The other striking citizen, Guillermo Farinas, not incarcerated, is in his house, “is contributor to Radio Marti, a station funded by the U.S. government, but politically directed by the most reactionary forces of Miami, whose goal is the destabilization of Cuba.
The Cuban authorities, highlights the Movement, mourned the death of Orlando Zapata and also provide medical care to Fariñas, “however, bioethical principles preclude the use of physical force to end a hunger strike.
Such methods of violence, contrast analysis, are normally used by U.S. authorities in prisons and torture centers in Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib and Bagram in violation of the rights of detainees.
“In Cuba it respects the individual’s desire to use avenues of protest and hunger strike. However, the government of Cuba has said it will not accept blackmail of any kind,” said the report.
A fundamental and permanent aspect of the policy against Cuba, he adds, is trying to “subvert by organizations supposedly promoting civil society that are mounted, directed and financed from the United States and with public funds from the federal budget” .
As in Mexico, the U.S. and many other countries, Cuban law forbids its citizens to collaborate and receive funding from a foreign government for political purposes, recall the message.
Faced with these attacks, as in the case of the blockade, terrorist acts and attacks against the life of Fidel Castro and other leaders of the revolution, Cuba has a legitimate right to defend themselves and take action as it deems necessary, underscores the Movement.
The U.S. government maintains numerous political prisoners, including five Cubans (Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino and Rene Gonzalez) who fought against terrorist acts sponsored by those who support Zapata and Fariñas, expresses the complaint.
