Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) is working with its government and private sector partners to step up the Brunei ‘Tell-A-Friend’ road safety campaign.
The ‘Tell-A-Friend’ message taps into networks of family and friends to spread the message of the five ways to stay safe on the road: wearing seatbelts, not using mobile phones, observing speed limits, using pedestrians crossings and wearing helmets.
BSP hopes this will lend vital support to the government’s efforts to significantly reduce road accidents. The ‘Tell-A-Friend’ best practices can be found at https://www.bsp.com.bn/road_safety/Tell-A-Friend/index.htm
BSP also aims to instil safe driving practices among schoolchildren and youth so they will influence their parents. Working with the Brunei Ministry of Education, BSP has been involved in the National Traffic Games last May.
Other activities include supporting the Royal Brunei Police Force in its public road safety awareness campaigns. These campaigns impart information on road safety and tips in ‘Tell-A-Friend’ leaflets in all four districts.
More than 40 organisations including banks, insurance companies, car retailers, small businesses and government departments have adopted and are now rolling out the campaigns.
