The family of fire victims in Kampung Lambak ‘B’, Mukim Berakas ‘A’ in the Brunei-Muara District yesterday received financial contribution of $7,200 from the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB).

The financial aids were received by six families comprising 32 family members. The incident had claimed the life of a 13-year-old girl.

The recipients were Awg Noorazman bin Haji Sulaiman, Dayang Siti Zainon bte Haji Mohammad Jair, Awg Haji Noorazlan bin Haji Sulaiman (father of the deceased), Dayang Noorinsan bin Haji Sulaiman and Awg Mohammad Arif bin Matusop.

Meanwhile, Yayasan SHHB also contributed $1,000 to Awg Noorazlan bin Haji Sulaiman for the purpose of “tahlil and doa arwah” for her late daughter Dyg Noorazwani binti Haji Noorazlan.

The donation was presented by the Managing Director of Yayasan SHHB, Dato Paduka Haji Ali Hashim bin Haji Daud.

Also present at the ceremony were several government officers, village residents and village head of Kg Lambak ‘B’, Major (R) Haji Md Jair bin Haji Abd Wahab.

The contribution is part of the foundation’s effort and commitment to help lessen the burden and problem faced by the fire victims. It is also in line with the establishment of the foundation as charity/contribution of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and members of the Royal family as a gesture of care to His Majesty’s subjects.

Prior to the handing over of donation to the fire victims, Yayasan also conducted a “tahlil and doa arwah” for the late Dyg Noorazwani.
