Loaves of bread, buns, cakes and other pastry items were all snapped up within one hour at the Mum Bakery Menglait branch during the ‘everything 50 per cent off’ promotion yesterday afternoon. Hundreds of people from all walks of life grabbed as much pastries as they could. The queue could be seen building up from outside the bakery shop.
Yesterday’s promotion was the third time it was held in conjunction with the opening of the new branch Mum Bakery earlier this month. In the previous two promotions, all the pastries were snapped up within minutes by almost a thousand customers.
Miss Wu, the chief operation manager said, “Today’s promotion is to cater for people who may have missed out on the first two promotions.
“The responses were overwhelming in all the promotions. Every time, there were nearly a thousand people coming to buy our pastries.”
When asked about the pastries market in Brunei, Miss Wu said, “It’s very competitive. However, I believe our Mum Bakery branches offer more varieties for customers at an affordable price range.”
Miss Wu also revealed that Mum Bakery would soon be making its mark in Kuala Belait with its sixth branch scheduled to open in Seria very soon.
One of the customers lining up outside the shop, Miss Lim said, “My family loves to eat buns and breads. So this is a good opportunity for me to grab as many bread and pastries for half the price. I have been waiting here for around 20 minutes in order to get inside and it’s worth the wait.”
