Five years on, the swimming pool complex in Batu Apoi, Temburong is still awaiting completion despite a B$1.8-million allocation, the Temburong District representative to the Legislative Council said during the LegCo Meeting session on Saturday.
The Minister of Development, YB Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar, in his response said that the project had been faced with a number of problems. But he gave his assurances that the project will be completed by July this year.
YB Awg Hj Sulaiman bin Hj Ahad, the representative council member, also made a request for the installation of floodlights at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex “for the convenience of the public”.
In response, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, YB Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Awg Hj Ahmad bin Hj Jumat, stated that the request will be looked into.
