SCB extends opening hours

Borneo Bulletin Writer Mar 25th, 2010 .

In an effort to offer greater convenience to customers to conduct banking transactions, Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) is extending its banking hours all throughout government payday week.
Throughout the week, customers can conduct their banking transactions at SCB earlier in the day at all of the bank’s branches in the Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait Districts, with the exception of the Manggis Mall branch, SCB stated in a press release.

All six of the SCB branches will be open from Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.00pm. On Saturday the Bank will operate from 8.30am to 11.30am. Branches following these extended hours are located at Jalan Sultan in the capital, Gadong, Bunut, Tutong, Seria and KB.

Standard Chartered’s Manggis branch located at Manggis Mall in Jalan Muara now operates seven days a week. The new banking hours at the branch are 9.00am to 9.00pm from Monday to Friday, and 9.00am to 4.00pm on Saturdays. For Sundays and public holidays, the branch will be open from 11.00am to 4.00pm.

“At Standard Chartered, we focus on anticipating and focussing on our customers’ needs,” said Ms Olivia Yong, General Manager Branch Sales and Service at SCB

“We understand that during busy payday weeks such as this, customers will need extra time to conduct their banking transactions.”

To celebrate the extended banking hours, Standard Chartered’s Bunut Branch hosted breakfast for its customers who took advantage of the earlier hours to conduct their transactions. Branch Manager Dyg Kaniah Murang was on hand to host them.
