Clement Chong, QAF Auto Sales Manager, who was accompanied by two senior QAF Management staff attended the ‘Product & Brand Experience 2010 for the New BMW 5 Series’ that highlighted the ‘BMW 5 Series Driving Experience’ in Portugal, according to a press release.
The Estoril Race Track – a well-established Formula 1 circuit venue in Portugal provided the participants the perfect location to test-drive the all-new BMW 5 Series sedan that was officially premiered worldwide recently.
Throughout the test-drive event, participants had the opportunity to try out for themselves the highly advanced drive train and suspension technologies which are engineered into the 6th generation 5 Series Sedan.
Other special features of the new 5 Series that were also tested on the racing track included the Adaptive Drive, which encompasses Driving Dynamics Control, Electronic Damper Control, and Active Roll Stabilisation.

BMW EfficientDynamics technologies are featured in appropriate combinations on each BMW 5 Series model, including features such as brake energy regeneration, electric power steering, a gearshift point indicator, active cooling air flaps, and on-demand operation of engine accessory drives.
The driver assistance systems offered with the new 5 Series include an all-new parking assistant, top view cameras, and frontal collision warning with application of the brakes when ordered with Active Cruise Control plus Stop & Go.
Other driver assistance features available include blind spot warning, lane departure warning, a head-up display, and BMW night vision with pedestrian detection.
On the last day of the event, BMW importers and dealers were also invited for a ‘BMW X1 Scenic Drive’ around the picturesque coastal areas of Europe.
“The three-day visit to Portugal has truly been a wonderful experience for us where we had the first hand opportunity to try out the 6th Generation BMW 5 Series. We are excited to share our knowledge and experience with our valuable customers here who are equally anticipating the official launch of the BMW 5 Series by the middle of this year,” said Clement Chong.
The world debut of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan opens up the latest chapter in a truly impressive story of success. In the course of five model generations, overall sales of the BMW 5 Series already amounted to more than 5.5 million units.
