MALAYSIA: BERNAMA WINS BRANDLAUREATE AWARD

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia March 27 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) won the Best Brand award in Corporate Branding under the Media-National News Agency category at the prestigious Brandlaureate Awards 2009-2010 presentation ceremony at a hotel here Friday.

The award was presented by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Idris Jala to Bernama’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief Domestic News Services Zulkefli Salleh, who received it on behalf of Bernama.

The Brandlaureate Awards are divided into four categories namely the BrandLaureate Corporate and Product Branding, the BrandLaureate Master Award, the BrandLaureate Specialty Award and the BrandLaureate Societe Award.

There are also four categories under the BrandLaureate Brand Personality Category namely the BrandLaureate Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the BrandLaureate CEO of the Year Award, the BrandLaureate Brand Personality Awards and the BrandLaureate Country Branding Award.

Berjaya Corporation chairman and chief executive officer Tan Sri Vincent Tan was named the BrandLaureate Entrepreneur of the Year Award while Limkokwing University of Creative Technology president Tan Sri Dr Lim Kok Wing was accorded the BrandLaureate CEO of the Year Award.

The BrandLaureate Awards, also known as the Grammy Awards for branding, recognises the best brands from Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific, and covers various industries and categories, from multinationals to government-linked and public-listed companies.

The theme for the BrandLaureate Awards 2009-2010 was ‘Your Brand, the Masterpiece’.
