HAVANA, March 31 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – Cuba’s famous Havana Club rum, which is among the world’s best ten and still the preference of consumers worldwide is to increase its presence in Chile and France, local authorities said.
According to Havana Club Internacional S.A’s sales and marketing director Enrique Noste, Spain and Italy currently stand as the main market for the rum’s commercialisation.
The official recalled the Cuban product is largely accepted on the U.S market but that country’s economic blockade off the island prevents its commercialisation there, the National Information Agency said.
Noste said that 1,000 boxes of rum will be sold in local tourism resorts in the first three months of this year thus representing a record in sales for the period.
Havana Club Internacional S.A has been in charge of the product’s production and local distribution since 2003, while France’s Pernord Ricard looks after its sales in 124 countries. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
