The Academy of Brunei Studies (APB), Universiti Brunei Darussalam yesterday held its Adat Istiadat quiz semi-finals organised by the Majlis Tertinggi Melayu Islam Beraja.
The guest of honour was Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti HjWahsalfelah, Director of Academy of Brunei Studies. Also present were the Deputy Director of Academy of Brunei Studies Shahrol Amira bin Abdullah, APB lecturers and UBD students.
The event started with a recitation of the al-fatihah by Awg Nurhidayatullah, a second-year APB student. It was followed by opening remarks from the event chairperson Hj Samri bin Hj.Mohin
Four teams representing the Academy of Brunei Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Business and Policy Studies and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE) were in the semi-finals.
They answered questions on general knowledge about Brunei culture and ceremonial events such as “Perpuspaan” and “Gendang Jaga-Jaga”.
The teams from Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Academy of Brunei Studies entered the final round.
The finals of the UBD Adat Istiadat Melayu Project will be held at the UBD Chancellor Hall on April 7.
