EIGHTEEN theft cases were reported in the past three days, the police said. The items stolen were jewellery, two digital cameras, two BMX bicycles, four mobile phones, a boat engine, three computers, two gas cylinders, a speaker and cash totalling B$12,540.
Two cars – a black and blue Subaru that were last seek parked at a workshop in February, and a silver Toyota Corolla which was parked behind Desa Complex in Berakas — were also reported stolen.
The theft cases occurred at Kg Kiulap, Kg Beribi, Kg Mata-Mata, Kg Serusop, Perpindahan Lambak Kanan, Perpindahan Jaya Setia in Berakas, Kg Mentiri, Kg Tanah Jambu, Kg Sungai Besar, Jln Subok, Tamu Kianggeh, the cargo area at Old Airport, Mile Two in JIn Tutong, Jerudong
Beach and Kg Tanjong Nangka.
Other cases filed included 19 Marine Police checks in Brunei waters, two assaults, five frauds, fire at Jln Bebatik-Kilanas, one phone disturbance, two runaway workers, one unpaid wage case, one case of retrieving a stolen Honda at Jln Kecil in Sg Liang Beach, one house break-in, two Immigration cases with two foreign workers apprehended, one misuse of drugs case and one case of immoral activity.
The police also recorded 23 cases of road accidents, 10 of which involved car collisions, 11 self-accidents, one self-accident involving a motorcyclist, and a case of a driver knocking down a pedestrian.
The accidents saw one death involving a 20-year-old man, two serious and two minor injuries during the three-day period.
