THE Women’s Prisons Institution recently organised a religious ceremony to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The ceremony started with a mass recital of the surah al-fatihah and followed by
a declamation of an Islamic poetry entitled `Junjunganku’ by the female inmates. A `salawat’ reading competitor among female inmates was also held.
The ceremony also coincided with the conversion of a female inmate, which was
witnessed at the prayer hall of the Jerudong Prison.
Acting Director of Prisons Department Hj Jasni Hj Abd Latif was the chief guest at the event.
