Closer ties through soccer

Mohammad Abdullah Apr 9th, 2010 .

In a bid to foster closer relations between the Darussalam Motorcycle Association (Pemoda) with the other communities and associations, Pemoda organised a friendly football match against PJ7 UBD, at University Brunei Darussalam football field.
Pitting their prowess against a faster and more tangible team Pemoda engaged PJ7 UBD on their own turf to be beaten 1-0 in the dying seconds of the game.

The first half saw both teams measuring each other’s strength, with attacks and counter attacks but the score remained scoreless at the break.

After the breather, both teams brought in fresh legs but failed to break the deadlock after several close calls.

In the 80th minute after punishing the PJ7 UBD with several shots on goal, Pemoda’s Azmin shook the bar with his volley which had looped above the head of the keeper.

PJ7 launched punishing counter attacks as the match drew to a close and was rewarded in the last minute of extra time when Amzar Mu’az bin Tamit managed to beat off the heroic efforts of Pemoda’s reserve goalie, Muhd Zaki, for the only goal of the match.
