Scores of parents came to Sayyidina Ali Secondary School recently to meet up with teachers from Years Seven, Eight and Nine to discuss their children’s academic progress.
Cikgu Rudy Suharde, an experienced teacher for many years, highlighted the importance of being organised and encouraged students to have a study time-table even at home. This, he added, will teach them the values of discipline and become more conscious of their lessons in school.
“Teachers can only contribute so much, but, students coupled with the encouragement from their parents and family are the ones who can really contribute towards their own betterment. It is imperative nowadays to have a good education background as this will help them get better job prospects in the future.”
Also attending the meeting were the individual subject teachers as well as the acting principal, Cikgu Annie Sindai, who took the role of overseeing the whole process.
She was also on hand to welcome parents and answered queries from parents and students alike.
