The Training and Special Operation Centre of the Prisons Department yesterday held a closing ceremony for the control and restraint (CNR) course involving nine officers.
The course was aimed at learning techniques to deal with aggressive inmates without injuring them and enhancing the skills on the use of handcuffs. Participants revised acts and regulations, chapter 51 and the introduction on weapons and safety equipment. The course started March 29.
The chief guest was Prisons Superintendent Hj Ismail bin Hj Murat, head of Prisons Institutions. Senior officers and personnel from the special squad of the Prisons Department also attended.
