Belait police force holds conversion ceremony for officers and families

Twenty members of the Belait Royal Brunei Police Force and their respective families converted to Islam during a religious ceremony which took place at the multi-purpose hall of the Belait Police head office situated in Panaga, Wednesday evening.
Tthe guest of honour was the Commisioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Pehin Datu Kerma Setia CP Dato Paduka Seri Zainuddin bin Jalani and his wife.

The ceremony commenced with a mass recital of surah al-fatihah led by APO Fuad Hamdi bin Haji Ibrahim, followed by a Dzikir Marhaban followed by the guest of honour sprinkling scented flowers on the newly converted. The event was a good opportunity for Muslim members of the police force to improve their relationships with the newly converted.

The ceremony saw Apo Gajah Anak Dato, now known as Muhammad Sharul Rizal bin Abdul Rahman Dato, and his family members – his wife, four children and his brother who is also a police officer, Franky Anak Dato, now known as Awang Muhammad Izzaqey bin Abdul Rahman Dato – choosing Islam as their new way of life.

The celebration also saw APO Lance corporal Nyaring Anak Lagok, who chose his new name as Awang Muhammad Nabil bin Abdullah Lagok, and his wife and two children as well as the family of late APO Lance Corporal Jembu Anak Kalong, comprising his wife and five children – recite their oaths and convert to Islam as well.

Police officer APO Alfred Bantin Anak Pagan and investigation officer Asri bin Mazlan changed their names to Muhd Rafiee bin Abdullah Pagan and Awang Muhd Sahibul Haziqhasullah bin Abdullah.
