THE Pre-U community welcomed its new batch of student councils and prefect members yesterday at the multi-purpose hall of Sayyidina Ali Secondary School.
Some 50 Pre-U 1 students were appointed, replacing the 2009/2010 batch who also concluded their services in honour. Attending as the guest of honour was Awang Haji Muhsin Haji Ahmad, Assistant Director of Immigration at the Enforcer’s Department.
In his speech, Awang Muhsin congratulated the school’s effort in striving to produce capable leaders who could be Brunei’s administrators and policy-makers in the future. Thus, training them early is imperative as they

Also in attendance to welcome the guest of honour were Cikgu Annie Sindai, Acting Principal as well as Cikgu Dk Mas Juleana Pg Abd Rahman, Deputy Principal of the school.
“I also welcome the newly appointed members for year 2010/2011. Those who were appointed were chosen because they have demonstrated the capabilities and qualities to be leaders and showcasing their abilities to excel in academic studies and in extra-curricular activities.”
Certificates of appreciation were then presented to the thirty-nine students of the previous batch by the Acting principal. The guest of honour also presented letters of appointment to the new batch.
