SCB holds relay race

Staff of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) took part in a fun “Road Run Relay”, a competition around the National Stadium area in Berakas organised by the bank’s Recreational Club yesterday.
The four teams named Ocean (Blue), Jungle (Green), Granite (Black) and Rain (White) took part and each featured four runners. The Road Run Relay competition is part of a series of challenges dubbed the “Super Series 2010 Challenge” which kicked off in January this year.

To add to the excitement and hype, the bank’s senior management led by Danny Quah, CEO of the Standard Chartered Bank, formed an additional team.

In the competition, Team Black emerged as the champion, Team Green earned second place, Team Blue won third place and Team White came fourth.

“At Standard Chartered Bank, we strongly believe in high employee engagement as an engaged workforce helps drive our high performance culture. Team events such as this foster and strengthen relationships amongst our staff,” said Lee Ngee Tan, Head of Human Resources at Standard Chartered Bank and also chairman of the Standard Chartered Bank Recreational Club.

Standard Chartered Bank holds regular fun events for staff. At the same time, the bank’s empolyee programmes also include an Employee Volunteering Programme that provides staff with two extra days of leave to contribute back to the community through volunteering.
