Heads of school canteens were reminded that food safety measures should not be taken lightly during a briefing at the Utama conference room of the Ministry of Education yesterday.
According to one of the speakers, Dayang Hajah Umah binti Omar, food inspectors should inspect all supplies before they are distributed to schools across the country. Aside from this, food inspectors should have a record of all the names of school canteen heads, as this would ensure better communication.

Earlier, a welcoming speech was delivered by Awang Hj Bujang bin Jumat, the Head of Food Services Section for Schools and Hostels.

Some 200 canteen heads attended the briefing, which included a Q&A session with the guest of honour, Awg Haji Md Taib bin Dato Hulubalang Hj Abd Wahab, the Director of Administration and Services, Ministry of Education.
