Seruji Hj Setia has done it again! The versatile local golfer has added yet another silverware to his cabinet when he retained the President Trophy for the second consecutive year at the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club on Sunday after carding a total of 70 gross.
The President Trophy was sponsored by Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, the Minister of Development.
Five shots behind Seruji in the overall men’s gross was Hj Omar Hj Asmat with 75 gross followed by Ali Rashid (78 gross).
Dato Malai Ali Othman scored a total of 66 nett to win the men’s overall Nett category followed by Zaini Abd Rahman (67) and Hj Ali Yussof Hj Arshad (68ocb).
Haji Raya Dollah who carded 71 nett took home the winner’s trophy of the men’s Nett ‘A’. Pg Hj Zamani Pg Hj Ahmad (73) was second and in third place was Dullah Sitai with 76ocb.
In the men’s Nett ‘B’, Rozaimi Hj Ahmad came in first place with 73ocb with Hj Mohd Shariffudin in second place with 73ocb and Jimmy Briones (73) in third place.
The men’s Nett ‘C’ category was won by Abang Osman (68) followed by Hj Ali Bakar Hj Kasim (69) and Hj Suhaimi Hj Omar (70).
The winner’s trophy for the VIP Guest Nett went to Hj Damit Hj Awang Osman after he recorded a score of 77. Second place went to Pehin Dato Hj Abdullah (95) followed by Pg Hj Mohd Yusof Pg Bakar (97).
In the Senior Golfers Nett category, Hj Ahmad Zainal carded 69 to win the category. Hj Mohd Yussop Hj Latip scored 70 to take second place followed by John Chia (73), Jaidin Berudin (75) and Prof Tong (76ocb).
For the Ladies Golfers Nett, Vienna Lim came in first place with a score of 71 followed by Pg Datin Hjh Umi Kalthum (75), Hjh Azizah Hj Ahmad (79), Joy Estrella (80) and Agness Hiu (81).
For the novelty prizes, nearest to pin for Hole No 7 went to John Chia, Sabrina Hj Masri (Hole No 9), Ali Hj Rashid (Hole No 13) and Ali Adnani (Hole No 16).
The longest drive Hole No 8 went to Pg Hj Zamani Pg Hj Ahmad and most active player went to Mohd Nadzri Hj Mohd Tahir.
The Minister of Development, Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdullah, gave away the prizes to the winners.
