Ten ministries will be vying to grab the honour to lift the Piala Keputraan sponsored by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office this year.
The tournament held in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 64th birthday aims to further strengthen ties among the participating ministries and to enliven up the royal celebration.
A draw for the participating teams recently at the Brunei-Muara District Office picked the final list for two groupings.
In Group A are last year’s finalist, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
In Group B are Ministry of Development as the defending champion, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources and the Ministry of Communications.
The draws was made by the co chairperson of the competition, Awang Hj Zamri Bin Dato Paduka Hj Hamdani, the Deputy Director II of Youth and Sports and Awang Rosdin Bin Hj Abdul Aziz from the Brunei-Muara District Office.
This year’s competition format is a little different as the players for category section II and category players of 45 years old have been halted.
