More than 30 staff of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) recently underwent a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course organised by the Bank’s Corporate Real Estates Services Department.
The one-day course was carried out by the National Resuscitation Centre and led by Awg Haji Mohd Sari Tamit. The course was held at the Ministry of Health’s Human Resource Development Centre, Jalan Ong Sum Ping.
According to a press release from SCB, the aim of the course was to train employees of Standard Chartered Bank on how to perform CPR in the event of an emergency or accident. Aside from hands-on training on CPR, staff were also briefed on the standard procedures on how to rescue a person before performing CPR. After completing the course, participants were given a certificate of attendance from the National Resuscitation Centre.
“It was a very useful training session and it is an advantage for me to be able to perform CPR in case of emergency. I would recommend everyone to go for the CPR training – you never know, you could save the life of a person!” said Diana Han Paunlagui, Product Manager, Mortgage Department of Standard Chartered Bank.
“We thank the National Resuscitation Centre for their time to conduct the training for our staff. By having our staff trained on CPR, this will contribute to a safer working environment in the event of an emergency,” said Awg Shamsulariffin Hj Abd Wahab, HSE, Business Continuity and Security Officer of Standard Chartered Bank.
