The International Women’s Club Brunei Darussalam (IWCB) yesterday presented a donation to Chung Hwa Middle School to help underprivileged students.
The donation was part of the funds raised from the IWCB Charity Bazaar held at The Mall Gadong last March 27 to 28. The President of the IWCB, Ungku Datin Hjh Fanzah Osman, presented a cheque amounting to $1,500 to the Deputy Principal of Chung Hwa Middle School, Beh Hai Yau.
The donation will be used to help underprivileged students at the school to pay for their school fees. Other funds from the Charity Bazaar will be given to respective charity organisations in the country as well as around the region.
A prize presentation was also held yesterday for the winner of the IWCB Charity Bazaar 2010 lucky draw. The lucky winner, Jang In Ju won herself a return air ticket to Kuala Lumpur, which was also presented by the President of the IWCB.
The event yesterday was held at Swensen’s Café and Restaurant at The Mall, Gadong.
In conjunction with their 22nd anniversary, IWCB will be holding a gala night event at the Jerudong Polo Club on May 22. This year’s theme is ‘Movie Icon’ and both ladies and gentlemen are invited to attend this prestigious event and are encouraged to attend as their favourite movie character or movie star. Guests can come as Johnny Depp on the red carpet or as Captain Jack Sparrow from the movie, as Angelina Jolie or one of her many movie characters; the options are limitless.

The IWCB will also be holding their Annual General Meeting in September and ladies who are interested to join this esteemed organisation are welcome to attend.
