Eighteen Anthony Abell College (AAC) students received their Wadokai Karatedo belt at the Wadokai Karatedo ceremony, which was held at the college auditorium yesterday.
The college principal in his speech highlighted that since February 10, 2010 around 60 students have participated in the training.
The Wadokai Karatedo Brunei Darussalam Federation made their presentation at the college in January and through their roadshows at secondary schools in the Belait District has attracted the interests of many students.
Eighteen training sessions were held in the college from 4pm until 6pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and out of that training around 18 students have successfully met the grading system.
The coach for the programme, Shihan Haji Malai Mohamad, has spent a lot of time and energy in sharing his knowledge and expertise in training Wadokai Karatedo and has identified two students of the college who will represent the country in the upcoming Asean games which will be held in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China in November.
The two chosen students are Awang Hamizan bin Haji Sanip and Dayan Zarina Umpor.
The opening of the Karatedo Anthony Abell College Club was officiated by the guest of honour Awang Haji Matusin Haji Tuba, Belait District Officer who also presented the belt grading to the students of the programme.
