SR Benutan holds 2nd Mental Maths competition

In efforts to improve the mental capabilities of its students, SR Benutan recently held its 2nd Mental Maths Competition for Tutong II Primary Schools. The primary students of Years One, Two and Three competed against each other in a friendly atmosphere.
The guest of honour was Cikgu Kani bin Abd Ulang who fully supported the school activity. The event commenced with a prayer lead by Ustaz Jaya, followed by speeches delivered by SR Benutan’s principal, Ckg Yong Ming Chok as well as the guest of honour.

While waiting for the results to be announced, SR Benutan students performed a few traditional songs and dances. In the Year One category, Md Khairul Ikhwan bin Osmali of SR AR Tanjong Maya claimed victory while Md Syarqawi bin Hilmy of SR Layong and Sabirah bte Shalan of SR Ukong, came in at second and third place respectively.

The Year Two winners comprised Andy Joshua bin Apollo of SR Bukit Udal, who won first place, followed by Abd Azim bin Anuar of SR Layong, and Md Qausyimmulah bin Abd Azis of SR Panchong, who were awarded second and third respectively.

In the Year Three grouping, the title went to SR Benutan’s Frira Haziq bin Safri while Md Shahrum bin Mohamadiah of SR Rambai and Aiman bin Hj Ismad of SR Layong were awarded for their efforts in securing second and third place respectively.

The teacher in charge of participating students was presented with a certificate for her role in the competition.

The event came to an end with Principal Cikgu Yong Ming Chok handing a souvenir to the guest of honour. Cikgu Khairi
