A get-together event was held recently at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium’s restaurant in Berakas between the village head, MPK and the residents of Kg Lambak Kanan B with the committee of Mukim Berakas A.
The ceremony began with the recital of surah al-fatihah led by Pg Hj Mohd Yusof Pg Hj Salimin, followed by welcoming remarks from Major (R) Hj Mohd Jair Hj Abd Wahab who thanked the MPK committee members for successfully planning and organising several projects and charity activities on a rotational basis such as meetings and religious events as well as exercise and walkathon every three months.
The ceremony also coincided with a presentation of donation to a family member of a March 2010 fire victim. It was handed over by the chief guest, Awg Hj Ahmad Husain, the Penghulu of Mukim Berakas A.
The ceremony followed with a performance of ‘ompong’ (seruling), a traditional musical instrument by Awg Hj Mohd Jair and also a ‘syair’ declamation from the Penghulu, Awg Hj Ahmad Husain. It is hoped that the close relationship among the attendees would be continued and remain everlasting.
