Girl Guides Association holds Al-Quran reading contest

The Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam yesterday organised the “National Level Reading of Al-Quran Competition” for the year 1431H/2010M.
This year the event was hosted by the Girl Guides Association of Tutong branch that took place at the hall of Tutong Camp Primary School in Tutong.

The guest of honour was the wife of the Acting Tutong District Officer, Dayang Hajah Wanidawati bte Tamat.

The competition was part of the annual activities of the association with the aim of seeking and training the existing al-Quran reading talents to participate in other competitions.

Ten participants took part to showcase their reading talents to the audience comprising representatives from other districts.

The competition was divided into three categories, namely, the Tunas Puteri, Pandu Puteri and the Pemimpin/Pemimpin Muda. The winner in each category will be announced at a later date.
