The final of the Traditional Tug-of-War Championship in-conjunction with His Majesty’s 64th birthday celebrations will be held on June 12 at Taman Hj Sir Muda Omar’ Ali Saifuddien in the capital.
This was revealed by the championship organiser, Brunei Darussalam Tug-of-War Association (BDTWA) yesterday.
According to the organiser, this championship will be participated by Brunei Muara teams only and the champion for each category will represent the district at the national level.
A total of three categories will be contested in the tournament: Category A (individuals 70 kilogrammes and below), Category B (total weight of 1,100 kilogrammes -10 pullers and below) and Category C (Under-19 years old totaling 600 kilogrammes – 10 pullers and below).
The teams who made it to the final after being contested last week were Chain Block, G-16 Jerudong, Mad Black Bull, Saba 99, Ministry of Development, Police B, KBL and Mukim Lumapas who will be competing in their respective categories.
