A huge fire engulfed a florist shop in Jalan Madewa last night that caused neighbours to be evacuated from their houses. The Fire and Rescue Department received the distress call at 8.41pm and four fire trucks from Gadong and Beribi fire stations were deployed. According to sources, almost all the 10 rooms inside the property including the employee quarters, which housed 14 workers, office rooms and the florist’s store went up in flames. The cause of fire is still under investigation.
