THE Islamic Da’wah Centre, through its Women Guidance Unit, will be organising a Fiqh Az-Zakat Course on their Tarbiyah Wanita Majlis Ta’lim programme for the Women’s Association.
The five-day course starting from May 24 to 29, is expected to be attended by some 48 participants from various associations including the Muara Women’s Bureau, Pertiwi, Perbekal and the Persekutuan Guru-Guru Melayu Brunei (PGGMB), among others.
The annual course is hoped to help improve the understanding and knowledge of zakat (tithe) the fourth tenet in the Pillars of Islam, provide and understanding and to raise awareness on the duty of distributing the zakat.
The course will touch on the true meaning of zakat, the different types of zakat, golden, silver and currency zakat and Zakat Fitrah, among others.
Held at the Madrasah and Multipurpose Hall, Kampong Pulaie Mosque, the course will be led by Ustaz Hj Zainal Abidin Hj Besar from the Courses Unit of the Pusat Da’wah Centre’s Da’wah Propagation Section.
The closing ceremony for the course is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 29 at the Conference Hall, Islamic Da’wah Centre. (Melvin Jong) The Brunei Times
