Mukim Kilanas will have a new mosque sometime in July next year. The mosque, costing about $3,133,900.55, is going to be built on five acres of land in Bebatik Kilanas by MIM Sendirian Berhad.
The Erecting of the New Mosque Pillar ceremony was held yesterday and was attended by the former Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Jawatan Luar Perkerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Mohd Zain bin Hj Serudin, as the guest of honour.
Also present were Deputy Minister Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman, Permanent Secretary Awg Hj Md Mahdi bin POKDSD Dato Laila Utama Hj Awg Abdul Rahman, and Deputy Permanent Secretary Pg Hj Bahrom bin Pg Hj Bahar.
The event began with the mass recital of surah al-Fatihah followed by a briefing on the architectural design of the building by the Consultant and Contractor.
The event saw the pouring of concrete cement by the Minister of Religious Affairs as well as the Deputy Minister and other senior officials.
The event concluded with a doa selamat read by Mohd Zaidin bin Hj Mohd Noor, Mosque Affairs Officer.
The mosque could accommodate 1,000 worshippers and provide facilities such as male and female praying hall, VIP room, library, corpse management room, multi-purpose hall and many others.
