Majlis Ugama Islam Brunei (MUIB) recently sponsored approximately $13,000 to a 14-year-old student, Awg Abdul Hafiz bin Hasrin, who is suffering from heart disease.
The donation was presented by Awg Hj Harun bin Hj Junid, Secretary of Majlis Ugama Islam.
Majlis Ugama Islam was made known of the boy’s illness by the father and in response, the department, through the Zakat Collections and Distribution Section under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, seek contributions from the public.
Awg Abdul Hafiz will be undergoing a surgery to treat an illness known as Ventricular Septal Defect, a defect in the ventricular septum.
