QUALITY Control Circle (QCC) can be a platform for the Ministry of Religious Affairs to be an organisation of excellence, said the Director of Islamic Legal Unit Ministry of Religious Affairs yesterday.
Speaking at the Ministry of Religious Affair’s QCC convention, Dato Seri Setia Hj Tasim Hj Akim said, “Meetings and discussions (such as in QCC) are one of the ways that can help us achieve excellence and these can be applied in our daily work situations.”
Discussions and meetings are effective solutions to increasing an organisation’s excellence.
The methods in QCC emphasised the value of cooperation between team members, which is demanded in Islam in order to achieve discussions and meetings that are beneficial and value-added, he said.
Dato Hj Tasim also emphasised the three values required for efficient management: innovativeness, an analytical mind and being proactive.
“These three values should be used as guidelines so that we all can make positive changes and not merely be satisfied with our existing achievements,” he said.
“These changes should be in line with strategic methods to produce optimum results without wasting time, energy and funds.
Addressing the participants, he said, “We need thinkers who are capable of thinking outside the box, to achieve great results in their duties and responsibilities in making Brunei a zikir nation”
The Ministry of Religious Affairs, with its priority on strengthening the position/status of Islam and religious affairs in this country, will continue to work towards becoming an excellent organisation, he said.
“To achieve this excellence, an efficient and effective management system is required. It is not easy, it takes up a lot of funds, energy and time to find the best ways (to succeed) without forgetting the foundation of Islam,” Dato Seri Setia Hj Tasim added.
