Delegation from Singapore Park View Primary School, consisting of several teachers and students, visited Pengiran Pekerma Setia Diraja Sahibul Bandar Primary School in Gadong recently.
The visit was aimed at conducting a “shared session” partnership between teachers and students from Singapore and Brunei in Malay language and Physical Education. The school was one of the places visited during their four-day visit to Brunei.
Upon arrival, the visitors were welcomed by the sound of hadrah and they were immediately escorted to the conference room. The headmistress, Cikgu Pg Zaiton binti Pg Haji Salleh, gave a welcoming speech followed by briefings from the first deputy headmaster, Cikgu Murti binti Ranggau and second deputy headmaster, Cikgu Dzulbahari bin Haji Sulaiman.
The visitors then had a sharing session with the Year 5 students on the Malay Language and Physical Education.
The sharing session was held on rotation with the first hour by the teachers of the hosting school and the next hour by the Singapore teachers.
Upon completion of the partnership session, the delegation toured the school. They had lunch at the multipurpose hall and watched some presentations from the students.
In addition, they were also given a demonstration on Ambuyat making and how to make Kelupis.
