A two-day motivational camp organised for some 59 Year 11 students, was held during the weekend by the Anthony Abell College in collaboration with the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC).
The camp, which took place at Big Top, OGDC, in Seria, aimed to encourage students to strive towards excellence, to provide a platform that would enable them to develop their self-esteem and discipline as well as training the students to be independent by equipping them with knowledge and social skills.
At the camp, students learnt to improve their ability to communicate with one another via ice-breaking activities as well as strengthening their capacity for teamwork by taking part in team-building activities.
Students learnt basic survival skills by setting up camps and enjoyed themselves during bonfire activities. They gained valuable knowledge from the motivational talks delivered by invited speakers from the BSP Learning and Development Centre. The second day of the camp saw students go through physical fitness training facilitated by police cadets. The physical training exercises helped students to develop their stamina as well as leadership skills. Prior to the camp’s end, students thoroughly cleaned up the campsite followed by getting prepared for the closing ceremony.
The motivational camp concluded with the presentation of prizes and certificates to the students by the Head of OGDC, Irwandy bin Haji Lois.
