Remnants of the jetty which collapsed in Kg Setia A. - JAMES KON
An elderly man sustained a broken right leg when a concrete jetty in Kg Setia A collapsed on him yesterday while he was repairing the stairway of the jetty.
According to several villagers in Kg Setia A, the man in his sixties was repairing the stairway when the cement jetty suddenly gave way.
The falling debris was believed to has struck the elderly man on the right leg.
The victim yelled for help and the villagers came to his aid by pulling him to safety. The Fire and Rescue Department was called to give assistance.
The jetty was said to have been built 20 years ago.
