Police Probe Canine Killing

Azaraimy HH Aug 6th, 2010 .

Bandar Seri Begawan – A Bruneian woman has lodged a police report claiming that her dog has been killed.

Recalling the incident, she said she was alerted by her worker that something seemed to have gone wrong with her dog.

That was when she found her dog limping and covered in blood. According to her, she cleaned the blood using tissues and found four holes in the dog’s body.

She said, she heard a sound like a firecracker before the incident and added that it may or may not be the sound of a gun.

She asked the Bulletin not to reveal her identity and address because she fears retaliatory action, physical or otherwise.

When asked further, she said her dog might have roamed and may have made someone angry who could have allegedly killed it. But she quickly added that she doesn’t suspect anyone.

She said the incident occurred on the morning of July 31, 2010, and she alerted the police.

According to a police statement made available to the Bulletin, the Lamunin Police Station received a call from the woman.

The police statement confirmed the incident and added that the dog died. The police said they are still investigating the matter.

The dog, named “Si Tam”, is survived by four two month-old pups.

According to the woman, Si Tam was gravely injured and the vet was far away from her home. The dog died around 3pm.
