A mother and her son escaped unhurt last night when their car caught fire at a convenient store at Kiulap.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a call at 7.20pm and arrived at the scene at 7.25 pm.
Ten fighters from Beribi and BSB fire stations led by Station Officer Hj Mustapa bin Hj Mohamad took less than a minute to put out the fire.
The fire was allegedly caused by short circuit in the car battery. Estimated loss of property has been put around $5,000 including a laptop.
