Eight years ago, Noor Aman Ahmad, or popularly known as Achik, a 23-year-old, was a normal person with normal eyesight. However, he was involved in a tragic accident that caused him several injuries, including losing his sight.

Although he is now visually impaired, he has a strong will and does not want to depend on other people to help him. He volunteered to take reflexology course in Kuala Lumpur and took almost two years to learn all the basics of reflexology, such as learning the right nerve points.

“I don’t want to depend on people’s courtesy and kindness. I’m healthy and fit to find my own income. This blindness just makes me stronger,” he said in an interview with the Bulletin.

“Back in Kuala Lumpur, the centre where my friend and I took the reflexology course was provided for the disabled (Orang Kurang Upaya or OKU). In our country, Malaysia, most of the disabled have to generate their own income in order to buy their needs and daily expenses. I’m not ashamed being like this. This is what I do and at least in a way, I can help people especially in reflexology.”

Achik has been seriously involved in reflexology since five years ago, and now he has regular customers that need his expertise to heal painful nerves. Achik, Meen and Rai are currently in the country to promote their reflexology services, at the Giant Tasik Rimba Expo.
